Kanye West on his Louis Vuitton Collaboration

Kanye recently took time out of his schedule to speak with the folks at I LVOE LV about his monstrous collaborations with Louis Vuitton and inspirations behind his shoe designs. Read more to check out the whole interview. Here’s a snippet:

How did your collaboration with Louis Vuitton come about?
I already knew and looked up to Marc Jacobs. Then Louis Vuitton called me and said they had this idea for me to do shoes. I was really excited about the opportunity. I don’t know if they quite knew what they were getting into asking me to help create something!

How did you work with the teams from Louis Vuitton?
We’d fly out there. They’d have ideas. I’d have ideas and I’d start sketching. I just sketched every idea in my head, women’s, men’s, everything. In the end Louis Vuitton had to narrow it down because I had SO many ideas that I wanted to get out.

How many sneakers did you design?
Ten, but I would have done more.

What inspires you about Louis Vuitton?
They’re the number one fashion house in the world!

Kanye West X LV by High Snobiety

In a recent piece by David Fischer of High Snobiety, we are reminded of the upcoming release by Louis Vuitton and taken through an artistic field experience by the folks who were kind enough to put together a brilliant photo shoot display to unleash the collection. Although this is already the second major sneaker release by Kanye West, his ability to personally design the silhouettes of the projects is what is impressing most. The photo showcase was taken by German photographer Daniela Muller-Brunke with the folks at HS to prepare the world for the major release.

Super’s Updated Basics, Ciccios and The Gals

Karmaloop has just got the new additions from Super Sunglasses in and it needs to be shown. Although we are still waiting on a new shipment of the Super Flats, the updated colourways of the plastic-frame, Wayfarer-inspired Basics, Ciccios and The Gals will have to hold us over.
