Pac Div’s “Church League Champions” Mixtape
Jul, 23. 2009 by Andrew in Media
The boys in Pac Div (Pacific Division), Like, Mibbs and BeYoung, have grown into the young leaders of the West coast hip-hop scene and are bringing their modern-classic “Church League Champions” mixtape to the forefront to remind us all that California is reclaiming its reign. Listening to them brings about feelings of a complete hip-hop sound that combines their distinct styles, heavy rhymes and endless flows. The group formed in 2001, in Southern Cali, just above Los Angeles, before releasing the BlendTape. The BlendTape combined their intricate styles with classic, mid-90′s covers inspired by their idols, Native Tongues, Hieroglyphics and Thug Life. Surviving on internet hype alone, even Pharrell Williams has taken the time to acknowledge Pac Div’s place in today’s elite. They got signed to Universal in 2009 and have been breaking out since with “Grown Kid Syndrome”.
