Arcade Fire – The Suburbs
Aug, 31. 2010 by Matt .
Just a warning, I’m going to pepper this post with youtubes of this show.
American Express has started an “UNSTAGED” concert series, they broadcast live shows on the internet. To further immerse the viewers in the experience, they enable viewers to cycle through two camera angles; the director’s camera feed and a second roaming camera feed. Awesome! And Later this year they’ll be giving John Legend and The Roots the same treatment. But lets get back to this album.
This was probably the most anticipated album of the year for me; I love these guys. Mostly because I love seeing fellow Canadians rocking out but these guys are the epitome of cool. According to iTunes, I’ve listened to their new album, The Suburbs, 41 times not including the play through as I’m writing this post. The album is closer to their earlier stuff (Funeral) and less like their last album (Neon Bible). Both were awesome albums, I just liked their first one more.
I could go on and on about this album, but it’s better if you just watch the clips. I put my favourite up first, otherwise I tried to keep it to the setlist.
Kanye West – Power

It takes a guy some pretty large stones to put himself in a religious themed anything. But this Renaissance inspired moving painting is fucking cool. Awesome art direction, cool song, a bit egotistical but whatever. I’m sure this creative new style with echo throughout many films to come. Any suggestions for movement names? I’m thinking “Neo Contemporary Renaissance”. Giotto would have been proud.

I’ve been watching, singing and humming this one for a while. Thought I’d try to get everyone else to do the same, enjoy.
Hit the break to hear 50 cent’s remix (it’s probably not official but why not, right?).
